FAQ
The Printing Company
Who?
Printful
Why them?
I searched for a company that has the best combination of customer affordability, sustainability, transparency, and no slave labor.
Transparency
They and their manufacturing partners are fully transparent about all the facilities they have globally. The partners are honest about the ethics they struggle with, do not use slave labor, and have shown commitment towards supporting domestic and global partners.
Sustainability
Printful offers 100% organic cotton and recycled polyester, and Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing, which uses biodegradable vegan inks, which are water-based, toxin-free and non-hazardous. With DTG printing, t-shirts are made on-demand, meaning, there are no garments made in bulk that would go to landfills or be incinerated.
Charities
Freedom United is dedicated towards freeing the world of modern day slavery and human trafficking. Their "campaigns" involve advocacy through education and influencing businesses and governments.
The Uyghur Human Rights Project promotes the rights of the Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples in East Turkistan (also known as Xinjiang) through: research-based advocacy; fostering new generations of Uyghur human rights defenders; and supporting survivors, family members of victims, and refugees to find safe haven and bear witness.
The National Resource Defense Council (NRDC) works to overcome issues related to climate change, water, air, energy, health, and biodiversity. The NRDC works in the U.S. and internationally to advocate for laws and policies that will protect our environment far into the future.
Slow Factory empowers historically marginalized people to become climate leaders through regenerative design, open education, and narrative change. Slow Factory educates communities on sustainability, equity, human rights, product design, and fashion waste through workshops and free classes. They also partner businesses with scientists and sustainability experts to innovate design, equity in supply chains, and circularity in materials development.

Printful deducts a standard price (~$15) for everything sold and the remaining profits are all donated to the charity of your choice. I do not keep anything! :)
